The side wears out somewhat fast so when you see a hole forming put shoe goo on it. The toe piece on the other hand lasts a really long time. If you like flip tricks a lot these shoes should last pretty long. Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Emerica Reynold series and Leos. Globe Sabatons.

Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Beautiful shoes--fit a bit off - I bought them a half size smaller than my normal, which is standard practice with just about all Vans shoes, so as a note for the uninitiated, you generally want to order a half size down or try them on before you buy. The styling of this shoe is totally great from the colors to the embroidery and they did a great job updating the original Era to a more modern skateboard friendly shoe. My one complaint and perhaps this will go away once they‘re broken in more, is that the shape and position of the heel cup rubs the back of the ankle causing blistering. So watch out for that, I guess. I haven‘t found a solution yet, but if wearing them in the rain doesn‘t work out, I may resort to duct tape. I?d say great chill shoe, maybe not as comfy to shred in. Yeah, well, I don‘t know if I got a luck pair or something, but I?ve been skating these nonstop for almost a month and no tearing has gone on! Surprising results! If you get these, although I would recommend throwing in some Dr. Scholls and get gellin‘! Overall wonderful shoes. That?s it, bye bye. Oh yeah and they are kind of small, so order half a size bigger because they are kinda small. They?re extremely uncomfortable and you have to tie them extremely tight so they don?t slip off because of the heels. Size smaller seemed okay...till my son?s foot went numb in one area. But, he had worn them and couldn?t return.
